What is the Saanich Peninsula Foundation?

The Saanich Peninsula Foundation (the “Foundation”) is a society incorporated under the Societies Act of British Columbia committed to improving the quality of life on the Saanich Peninsula by promoting and increasing responsible, effective and accessible philanthropy. Through its grants programme, the Foundation supports activities in the areas of health and social services, arts and culture, education, conservation and in recreation which benefit the residents of the Saanich Peninsula.

How Do I Contribute?

Anyone can give any amount. We accept gifts from individuals, families, organizations, private foundations and businesses in the form of:

• One time cash or cheque gifts
• Cash pledges over a number of years
• Stocks or bonds
• Property
• Bequests in wills
• Life insurance or annuities
• Memorial gifts
• Transfers of existing trust funds

Why Donate to the Organization?

Our Foundation provides a means for making charitable donation to benefit your community. We offer a permanent source of funding, as only the returns on the endowment fund are dispersed.

The Foundation uses the fund entrusted to serve the interests of all Peninsula residents in education, welfare, culture, environment, health and recreation. A Board of respected volunteers dedicated to Peninsula initiatives governs our Foundation.

What Happens to My Contributions?

Your contribution will be earmarked by our Foundation and invested in a permanent endowment fund administered by The Victoria Foundation. Annual grants from the returns of the endowment fund will be made to Peninsula charities recommended by our Foundation Board.

Local grant recipients have included community groups such as the Peninsula Crossroads Community Restorative Justice Program, North Saanich Brierfoot Rowing Club, and the Peninsula Museum Society.
